    91 chevy 1500 ls or lq9 swap help!!!!

    ok so to start off I have a 91 chevy stepside its lowered and its a lil rough tho I just bought it and I have around 4 thousand bucks to spend maybe 5 on a swap I cant decide whats a better swap a ls1 or ls2 or even lq4/lq9 its going to be a street truck not a drag truck but I want reliable im sure this has ben covered in another thread but im just asking for help for someone who has done the swap wat all do I need like motor mount wise and im not sure what trans ill do yet my truck is a automatic I don't know if I want to stay auto or do a t56 but if I do go t56 what kits are out there to make this as easy as possibl thanks!

    Your easiest swap will be a truck engine, if lowered you'll need to get the GM muscle car oil pan, dirty dingo motor mounts, stand alone harness and a later model 4l60E transmission.. that will be a reliable combination for a street driver

    The truck pan will still work but does hang about 2" below the cross member. I haven't smoked mine yet and I'm lowered 4/6 with small tires
    1995 rcsb c1500, 4/6 drop, 5.3 L33, 5spd, 219/228 112LSA cam, LS6 springs, 799 heads, long tubes, magnaflow mufflers

    The fbody or the corvette pan will work fine.

    so I ended up getting a 2005 lq9 ayone know about what headers you have to use? can you use stock manifolds?

    Stock manifolds will fit. Or you could use schoenfeld ls swap headers.
