99 K2500 CCSB LY6 swap

I had been looking for a clean truck and found this one in California back in Oct 2013. So I flew out from Michigan and drove it back. Love the truck, but it just needs some more power to keep me happy.

Finally pulled the trigger and sold the 5.7 from my truck. I got $950 for it and should be picking up my 09 ly6 this next week from my local truck salvage. 138k, complete with harness, ecm, gas pedal and y pipe for $1450. I hope that's a pretty fair deal. I've already bought my flywheel, adapter and bolts. I got the dimensions online for a 1" setback motor mount adapter and had a buddy cut some out for me.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Since this will be my first swap I am sure that I will have plenty of questions for you all. What's your thoughts on any inspections/preventative maintenance for the engine prior to installing it? I not sure if I should replace head gaskets or not. I will be sure to take pics as I go along also.

Those wheels look good on the truck. What year model did they come off of?

They are oem GM 07-10. I wanted factory rims but not the standard aluminum. I really like the look myself.

I wouldn't worry about the head gaskets. I would definitely change the rear main seal, oil pan, valve cover, intake and valley gaskets.

The only thing I did with my engine was the rear main seal. Now it has come back to bite me in the a**. I should have done the pan and valley/intake gaskets as well since both the pan and valley have begun to seep since the swap.
