    4l60e and Old Shifter Linkage

I'm about done with my ls swap and I decided to not buy the Lokar shifter kit that would supposedly make my Blazer's column shifter work with the new 4l60e. I decided to try and use the Blazer's original shifter linkage with the 4l60 for a few reasons: first, someone on a thread said that they always do this and it works fine; two, it seemed like it would work, so I figured "what the hell;" the 700r4 and 4l60e are supposed to have the same shifting points.

In short, everything hooked up just fine. When I tested the shifter, it worked; however, the points don't seem to match with my shifter. For example, there is Park, then there is something in between Park and the next gear, and so on. It stops on Overdrive and will not go into Drive, Second or First. I'm still thinking this setup still might work if I play around a bit with the linkage, but I'm not quite sure what to play with yet. Any ideas? I really don't see how Lokar's kit would be much different from what I already have.

    Thanks!

Should be able to adjust the shift linkage slider put shifter in neutral and release the adjuster and make both match in neutral.

Just need some clarification - I ended up buying a column shift arm kit (not too much different from my stock linkage) and got it hooked up. It almost seems right, but there is something funny with the 4l60e - I can click through 7 settings from Park all the way down to 1st where with the 700-R4, I can only click through 6. I've been playing with the linkage and the dial quite a bit and I cannot seem to get the shiftier to engage on 2nd or 1st. I't abnormally tight between Park and Reverse, but Reverse to Neutral, and Neutral to Overdrive shifts well. I also have been doing this without the truck on, so it might act differently when I get some torque on it. Any suggestions?
