so what i have is 83 chevy 4x4 i sold the 350/400 the other day. bought a 5.3 2004 motor and tranny. I am having Prevatt Automotive make a wire harness and computer for my engine. I am going to use motor mount adapter 4572 i believe and headers from sanders in florida. since it is a dbw Prevatt is going to make a harness for dbc and im going to switch the throttle cable to a dbc. thats it for know i will post pics when i continue.

You might consider going with the Dirty Dingo mounts http://dirtydingo.com/store/product_...=1367&CDpath=8 , PN: DD-2575-4. I think you truck has the same frame as my Blazer, and if so, the extra money in these mounts will give you a lot of flexibility so that you don't have to mess with the drive shaft, rear crossmember and transmission mounts. Everyone who has used them were very happy that they did, and those who didn't said that if they could do things over, they would have used the DD mounts. I also hear 2010 Camaro exhaust manifolds or 2009 Pontiac G8 manifolds work perfectly for frame clearance. I sometimes see used sets on ebay for around $250.

    What year is your 5.3?
