    Need help with MAF

    Hey guys, I'm swapping a 2003 lq4 out of an Express 3500, into my 89 k1500.

I have a question about my mass air flow sensor. The MAF from the Express was busted, so I grabbed one out of a nearby 02 or 03 silverado 1500. The van MAF and the truck MAF are both 5 pin, but the overall diameter, and the connectors are different. All of the wires are the same color, though.

Can I splice the Silverado MAF plug on to the van harness without having to reprogram the ECM? Or, should I hunt down a good van MAF?

Should work, all the truck MAFs are the same, I ran 1 off a 4.8 on a 6.0

Thanks man. I wasn't sure if the readings would be accurate because of the larger housing, but we shall see.

I got lucky and used one off a 4.3 V-6. Luckily, the plugs were the same but the bar code number was different. All else was the same. Truck runs flawlessly with it. Still have the old one for a spare.
