LS7 lifter tick. Only ticks around 2k rpms. Doesnt tick at idle. HELP

I have been driving on my new setup for a couple hundred miles now, and I can def hear a lifter tick right around 2000 rpms. It wont tick at idle and it wont tick above 2500. I am running the ls7 lifters with the ls2 lifter cups. prc heads, tsp cam blah blah blah ( its all in my signature). I know the old style LS7 lifters had issues, but I just bought these last winter and I am pretty sure they have been updated. What are your thoughts? Yes the oil has been changed TWICE since break in.

Mine does the same thing, I had the oil pump oring go bad on me and didn't know till after I replaced the lifters (cause I thought it was the lifters) but it still does it just at that rpm now. Been that way for a while and never gets worse, im guessing I damaged a lifter seal from low oil pressure and the lifters bottoming out.

When I installed the oil pump o ring, I made sure everything was 100% correct ( I have heard the disaster stories on the forums). Plus I has the engine upside down on the stand so i could verify everything. I really dont think it is that, plus my oil pressure never dips down below 40 psi. Any other suggestions?

i've heard engines make a tick or tap at a certain rpm before and everything was fine.
If it's an obvious noise and just too loud to be considered valvetrain noise, well that's your decision.

but you can even get a stock engine to make noise ever so slightly.

I am not really familiar with checking preload. Why is it required, what does it tell you, and what does it do, rather than just torqueing to spec. ( I torqued everything and triple checked it).

Go over to ls1tech and do a search. There are alot of threads on preload. The preload will be changed by different length pushrods. You will need to use a pushrod checker to get the proper preload.
