I am in the middle of a 5.3 swap and am using my 95 trans the bellhousing cover doesnt fit anymore so I am assuming that I am supposed to trim it to fit or am i not supposed to be able to use it anymore? Thanks

I didn't use mine either, I used the 2 plastic covers that came on the 5.3 from the factory. They are held on with a 10 mm bolt on each side of the oil pan. One of them the starter goes through before you bolt it to the block. Hope this helps.
what covers the torque converter and flex plate on yours or do you have it open
Ill be trimming mine in the center just haven't yet. Seems like it will bolt right back up.

yeah mine didnt fit either and the new motor didnt come with one so on to the tin snips it was!! bolts up perfect. but IIRC on mine, either the starter needed to come off or it was a pain in the ass to put the cover on with the starter in place so i removed the starter. might want to leave your starter off if you havnt put it on yet.
