In the process of swapping a 2002 LS-1 into my 1988 RCLB, I used street and performance motor mount plates and have the motor in the truck. I have almost everything done with the acception of wiring and guages and I have a few questions.

Does anyone have the pinouts for the truck harness?

Does the 4L60 shifter that Lokar makes work for a 4L60E as well?

Where can I get the fuse block mentioned in the wiring writeup on this site?

Also how can I hook up fuel lines, I put the LS-1 pump into the 88 tank and now I have to connect this to the motor, I can adapt the stock line and get up to the motor but how do I overcoem the quick disconnect connecetion on the motor?
    1 ton, 4600 pounds, 14.3@94mph any questions?

Leadsled, e-mail me an address and I can send you some info. We just finished installing a 2000 LS1 in a 90 RCSB. I used the T/A's motor comp. & wiring to incorapate into the truck's wiring. Gauges work correctly and check eng. light goes out, WOW it worked !!
Most of those trucks have the same wiring in those years and it's easy. As for the fuel line, we used a Corvette fuel rail with two hose conectioins, one supply & one return. We silver soldered the AN fittings on the railing (and truck lines) and use SS hoses thru the trucks normal fuel lines, it works great. You have to use two fuel lines, it your motor has one fuel line, it won't work, we also installed 60 lb. fuel pump............. As for the shifter, we used the stock columm shifter. The trans. is controlled by the computer any way. I also have some great info. on fuse blocks you can use and my re-wiring, I use one big relay and 4 fuses for the motor, I used the orignal truck starting circuit and the truck's fuel pump relay controlled by the T/A's computer ( which comes on for 2 sec. with key, then off, just like orignal). We are installing a Esclated front cap & Caddie tail lights in the stepside bed. Paint is Viper red, pic's to come soon. Just e-mail me for details .......................

You can get a fuse block from painless performance, they make a nice 7 circuit block, 4 hot , 3 ignition hot.

If you have only one feed line like big bodie said, you'll have to fab something, i went with the truck intake , it has a return line.

Big Bodie, you gotta website or something showing your progress, sounds like you have a lot of good advice on the swap,

Hi Allen, I don't have a web site or digital pic's, all the pic's we took were of the old type. I'm still looking for someone with a good scanner to get them digital, they are coming soon.
We ran into a little problem with the trans. it doesn't seem to go into 1st gear, acts like it's in 2nd or 3rd when we take off. I heard there is a 3 valve kit you can buy and replace the 3 shifting valves in the 4L60E, know anything about that ?? No check engine light either.

I'm sure we'll all enjoy the pics, keep us updated,

on the trans, is it actually going into first, ignore that if it is, just a stupid question, however i ask because if i put mine in second, i'll start out in second,

i guess all the electronics in the trans are ok,

Sounds like you project is coming together pretty good. I had the same 2nd gear thing at first. I went back and double checked my connections and found a wire i forgot to connect that sends power to the tranny. Hope this helps.

    Big Bodie,

sounds like you have done exactly what I want to. I have a 1992 k1500, want to keep the factory guages, any advise can you send me any info you may have to dchi@sprintmail.com I will be installing a new trans but will probably stick with the 700r4 instead of the electronic version to keep things simple or should I go with the 4l60-e

    thanks-T.J.

the 700r4 and 60E are pretty much the same , the 60E has more electronics to it.

I did a small write up on the stuff i did, go to the home page and the menu on the right has some info,

keep us updated, sounds like a badass project,

The answer to everyones fuel rail "pinch-tube" fuel connection problems...Godman Hi Performance. They sell nice aluminum snap on fuel fitting adapters that are female pipe or AN male flare, or whatever you want. Reasonably priced, considering how much work they save you. Their web address is: GodmanHiPerformance.com...But I recommend you call and talk to a human, to discuss your order. Hope this helps. Gar
