Swapping 5.3 into 98 tahoe , can I keep functional cruise control and ABS

Can I keep these two items functional?? If so what extras do I need to ask to be added to my new harness?? Will I need to keep the current 98 model computer or can it be removed and place my new comp in it's place..

Also on my new harness how do I wire it in for the cruise control and abs??

Do a search for your truck and donor truck and view the diagrams.

The cruise you can keep. Its the same wiring assuming the 5.3 is cable throttle.

    ABS looks different though

Yes, you can keep it, just need to supply your current hardware with a speed input, and physically hook up the actuator to the new TB. ABS doesn't interface with the PCM, so if you leave the 98 electronics in place it will be maintained.

So I will need to leave the 98 stock computer under the hood as well as my new comp for the 5.3... It will be a cable throttle body

You only need to run the one newer PCM.

Lextech(Jeff) please explain. I would love to be able to do this to my 1997 GMC Sierra. Remember, I purchased your A/C relocation kit and sent you my PCM for reflash.

I don't understand. We talked about this over a year ago. I sent you my wiring file to modify your stock 97 harness for the Gen3 engine. If I remember correctly you and a friend grafted two harnesses together and you are now running two PCMs. Aren't you now having a harness made by someone? If they are making harnesses then they should know how to only need one PCM.

Yes, you are correct. However, I have since purchased a PSI harness to try to make it a cleaner install. Additionally, I am in the process of rebuilding the engine due to sludge. Either way, I'm sure it can be resolved.
