    86 K10 to LQ4 Questions

    Hey guys,
almost done my swap, but want to know what has been done by other people on a few things. First, how did everyone hook up the power steering lines. Want it done right and looking nice too. Also curious how to get oil pressure readings to the 86 gauges. And last, how can I properly set up my TH400 with the 6.0?

Haven't gotten through mine yet, but I've solved those problems. My power steering lines bolt up to the exisiting steering box. The newer trucks use the same fitting as the metric box we have in our 86's. So use the stock lq4 pressure hose.

Oil pressure. I had mine editted out of the pcm programming, as its not required. I bought an adapter from summer that reduces from 18mm(?) to 1/8 inch npt, and reusing my stock oil pressure sending unit so that gauge will work fine.

For the th400, you'll need a crank spacer that bolts on to the rear of the flywheel that will support the nose of the torque converter.

Thanks for the info! Gonna pick up the power steering line and hopefully an adapter this week. I already have the tranny mounted with the flywheel spacer. Was asking more about the kickdown and a good place to supply vacuum.
