I am looking to purchase a 1987-1994 Chevy S10 Blazer or GMC Jimmy to do a V8 swap as a project with my father. We were discussing possible drive train setups when it occured to me "Why not do an LS6...you can buy the complete motor from GMPP now, or from a 'vette salvager"

We are now pretty much sold on the idea of doing a little blazer with an LS6 and T56 6 speed, but I cant find any information on doing it. Small Block swaps are so common in little Blazers and S trucks now that companies even make kits where you get the motor mounts, a bigger radiator, electric fan, etc.

I would imagine that motor mounts are different from the older small blocks to the new Gen 3 engines, but does anyone make a Gen 3 swap kit for a little Blazer. Or, does anyone know where to get custom motor mounts made that would allow us to do such a swap?

    Thanks!

You've picked a very nice drivetrain, just stick with it,

For the swap , you're pretty much on your own as far as seeing what works, the ls1 is a whole new setup and nothing is compatible with it's predecessors.

I don't know of anybody making swap kits, but i'm sure some ppl on the forum will chime in and help out with any specifics you may have.

    good luck,

I've got a buddy that has a blazer ZR2 (newer blazer) and I know there is a guy that has put an LS6 engine in his. Just check into ZR2.com and do a search, you should find it.

Im in the process of doing a book on my install right now! I have a 02 s10 with a ls6 and fbody accessories.I have already done a ls1 in a 88 s10 blazer. not as bad as you think. just remember. by doing an older s10 makes the resale drop. if I are planning on selling it. I would do a 95 and up.that just my .02 , I practally gave mine away for $7000.

yeah, I would say that bigjsp got a hell of a deal for $7000. It's funny that you replied, because I was going to refer him to you.

LS10blazer - You might want to check out blazinlow.com as well. A lot of good info there. Talk to bigjsp too because he is the new owner of the LS1 blazer.
