    LS1 into 95 Gmc Seirra

whats up guys, before you guys start ranting to me, I DID search around the site reading articles and information. but theres some still still linger around.
I have a 95' GMC seirra with the stock 5.7 motor and tranny STOLEN out of it so might as well upgrade.
im a wrench head so it should'nt be to hard to get what you guys are saying but theres are some issues that i need to address before i buy a vette donor.
    The knows:
i know the swap parts im going to need is
LS1 motor with tranny (of course duh)
    engine harness
    PCM/ECU
    Electric fan
high flow fuel pump and lines.

    the dont knows:
the rumor of the drive by wire needs to be replaced??

the LS1 should just drop in with out the custom mounts right? stock, my truck has the 5.7 350 motor in it, which in turn is actually the same motor series for the LS1 right?

then i have to get a reflash tune for the PCM/ECU?

any information will be thanked! please add any info i missed.

going to need new mounts check out dirty dingo for there sbc to ls1 mounts. i have them and love them

and most ls1s are dbc so you would just need a longer throttle cable out of a newer silverado

you are going to have to get the ecu flashed to remove the VATS (security) out of the computer allen can do this and while hes in there get him to do a tune

Okay first welcome to the site. Next to answer some questions.
Yes the LS1 along with basically all the newer GM motors (4.8, 5.3, 6.0 etc) will fit your application with some needed modification.

I would just get a motor with drive by cable to reduce headaches.

I believe you will need different mounts dirty dingo makes some good adjustable and inexpensive ones.

It would be best if you did get a custom tune mail order or live tune.

welcome to the site. you'll find a LOT of usefully info here. i'm doing a swap into my 96 & if it wouldn't have been for this site i wouldn't have even thought about doing the swap myself.
only other thing i see you may need is the corvette fuel filter with the built in regulator. what are you planning for exhaust?

Well noted on the ecu/pcm flash and throttle cable. How do you guys like the nelson engine harness? As for exhuast I believe ill leave stock headers and slap on a STS turbo system.

In that case you better plan on a built 60e or an 80e.

The LS1 and other LS engines are a completely different design than the GEN I and GEN II SBC motors aka 5.7 350. Parts and mounts are not interchangeable.
