Just got my Ported L92's back.... 358 cfm at .620 lift.... That's bowl work, some minor runner work, some chamber work and a valvejob.

If you are staying 6.0L, not stroking, I think ported 317's are a better option. They keep low rpm flow (and tumble) better, the ported L92's seem to like more cubes, mine are going on a LS2 stroker. The ported l92's will outrun the 317's above 6000, but 2000-6000, the 317s tend to put out better torque numbers, like 20 ft-# more given the same cam.

If you are going to shave them, look for 243 or 799 heads. Same port and runner, smaller chamber cc. 243's are getting real common 2007+ LH6's and LMG's came with them or 799's. 243's and 799's are virtually identical, they just come from different foundry's, hence the different casting #. The 799's are cast with a slightly finer grain sand, so they flow a smidge better stock (smoother runners), but if you are porting, there will be no difference.

inake will need to be changed, any idea on what intake youre looking at? meaning is this another budget build? the truck intake performs really well i made 440+ using the l92 heads on a stock lq9, the l76 car style intake works well also BUT needs to be ported for maximum performance, with a nice cam to go with it.. i'm closer to 500 now with the FAST intake, for the truck intake i used edelbrock fuel rails ( got a set if interested ) just need to make some brackets to mount them which isnt hard to do, you can use stock injectors ( find some 42lbs'rs ) deffinitely go with a 90mm throttle body. and some decent headers at lease 1 3/4's.

did you have the hollow stems installed and the sodium filled exhast valves? if not i would reccomend getting them, use prc 660 lift srpings also..

on another note 317s arent your best option if youre staying NA, 243s would be, you want the best flowing heads possible the cam and intake if matched properly will make up for any lost torque..
