    2002 5.3 into 1978 Jeep CJ7

    not a whole lot to it

    2002 5.3
    Jeep T18 tranny w/ centerforce clutch and converted to hydraulic
    model 20 transfer case
    AMC 20 rear axle and dana 30 front
    Pacesetter smog legal shorties
    magnaflow cats and dynomax bullets to true dual
    Avco 2 core aluminum radiator

    1978 Jeep CJ7 / 5.3L Vortec LM7 / T-18 4 speed transmission (Stock) / Dana 20 transfer case / Dana 30 front axle, AMC20 Rear Axle

    Nice! This is what I wanted my uncle to do to his CJ5, but he took the cheap and easy route and had a 350 SBC installed.
    Big slow mud truck with a TUNE!!!!!!

    after the issues we have had a 350 seems like a better option. Now that this is approaching finished I think it was worth the added effort and money

    It drives and drives well now but the smog ref said we need different cats to pass smog. Also driving it back to the shop I blew a tire. Just gotta get the cats and new tires and we'll be roadworthy again.
