Ok he made it sound like more. Thanks. So the cruise module controls pretty much the cruise. Whats the talk of the pcm controlling it? Is that just on newer styles or something?

vehicles with the electronic throttle body, the PCM controls the cruise since it can so easily. There are no provisions on the ETB to hook a cable so the cruise had to be internal to the PCM to handle cruise functionality.

He was talking about the VSS signal coming from the PCM.

So, the '07 and newer trucks cruise is controlled through the PCM ? I bought a harness with all the electronics from the "new" body style '07 Silverado, but it did not have the TAC module that others had mounted on the firewall, I went nuts looking for some kind of module that connected the pedal to the PCM........the only one I found was under dash and had 3 connectors running to it........I needed the newer 58x setup because the LS2 I have is set up with the same..........how complicated is it going to be integrating the '07 cruise to my '93's system???

All DBW trucks have the cruise controlled through the pcm. I believe 06+ dont use a TAC module at all because the TAC is taken care of within the pcm. Integrating your cruise should be as simple as the others - just a couple wire hookup. Someone will come along soon and clarify/correct my post.
