ANYONE ELSE PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT BESIDES ALLEN, THE MORE INPUT THE BETTER!!!!!!!!&#33 ;!!!!!

-- Custom Wiring Harness from Speartech – $750.00
-- Corvette LS1 or LS6 Engine: $2,000.00
-- T-56 6 Speed Transmission: $1,500.00
-- Stage 3 Kevlar Clutch, New Clutch Alignment Tool, New Throw-out Bearing, Pilot Bearing, New Flywheel: $400.00

-- What should I go with for a new drive-shaft and rear end? I think I am going to go with a nicer rear end, where can I find something? I am VERY new to the driveshaft thing and the rear differential, anyone with links to more info for me to learn about or your input on what to look for, for this application PLEASE put more input on.

- I'll get all corvette accessories with the corvette
- I don't have A/C in my truck so I won't need to notch the frame right?

My truck is a 1988 GMC Sierra, has the same body style as your 94 so I imagine anything I am forgetting you would know about....

THANKS GUYS!

1. Harness would be cheaper through (summit has them) Painless wiring harness. or there is a guy who works for Dynatech out in Cali that willre work the harness for you for about $275 i think. he is on ebay and his ebay username is "LS1Pro"

2. & 3. ...might as well raise those prices a little(if your using these to budget...its always nice to expect it to cost more and not be dissapointed when it doesnt cost that much) very few come complete for that price in a working manner

4. i assume you're lookin at a SPEC Stage 3(get carbon fiber, it'll hold better than kevlar with less chatter) the clutch itself is $419 and the flywheel is another ~$180. i all the above parts you mentioned for ~$500 through a Group Purchase on LS1.com through SpeedDemon MotorSports.

5. Engine mounts look good.

6. Headers, well i dont know....seems like you wanna be our ginnuea(SP?) pig, cuase nobody knows of any headers that'll work for LS1 trucks yet, thats why allens custom building him some to sell for his shop.

7.Exhaust probably shouldnt cost you that much....seems like all it is is a cat-back exhaust and truck systems arent like the $700+ f-body systems that require precise routing. also, only opinion, but dont go flow 40 series....they are very loud, and cops are very attraced to them....the wrong kinda attention if you ask me, when your gonna biuld this truck to go fast, you wont have it very long if you attract the wrong kind of attention. im learning this first hand with my other truck.

8. Driveshaft? go aluminum( allen ) as for the rear end, Eaton posi and 4.10's/3.73's depending on which you prefer.

9. I checked on the truck accesories new from SCH( or whatever link above the threads) and he told me they'd run about $1100 for the complete system...of course that was probably brand new, you might could piece a acc system together for cheaper, but i wouild assume the vette acc would cost a good bit more becuase of the "Vette" title put on them.

10. I need a/c but will just take the compressor off til allen can fab up a bracket for the f-body accesory guys like me. you can just do the same, the a/c is run off its own serp belt.

11. you'll need electric fans, all the LS1's run electric fans. i would make sure your Radiator is 2(+) core at least, you dont want any cooling issues on your brand new expensive ass motor.

thats all i can think of for now.

What's a good price range for complete LS1+6 speed?

What's the model # through summit for that harness? any idea? The one from speartech... the only reason why i was thinking of getting it there was because it's almost a literally plug and play system as far as all wiring, hardly ANY crimping at all....

What are you using for headers/exhaust manifolds?

What do you suggest for an exhaust?

Where do I go about getting the driveshaft made? Does like meineke do something like that or what kinda shop locally or online do I have to go to?

Where do you buy Eaton posi and 4.10's/3.73's online? Sometimes I see like 10 bolt and 12 bolt or something? Which one of those do I need? Do you have any clue what my 88 gmc sierra comes with for stock gears?

Where do I get a set of electric fans? Do they have to come off a vette or can I get some of those aftermarket electric ones for trucks? What do you suggest? Can I just get a 4 core radiator out of an older truck?

1. i would imagine if yoiu wanted a vette LS1/6spd it'd be around $4500(especially with lower miles), maybe $3500-3700 for a f-body LS1/6spd. there are always a lot of LS1 autos on ebay with "buy it now's" around $3500

2. the speartech harness is no different than a Painless, thats why they call it painless wiring...its all plug and play as well, comes labeled and all for $508 for a standard length harness....and 8ft one is like another $100 if i remember correctly. the part # for my 98 LS1 T56 is (SUM-)60506. im attaching a pic of what the speartech and painless harnesses should look like.

here is that guy "LS1Pro's" response when i when i emailed him.

PLEASE CALL US AT 562 945 5300 M-F 8-5 SAT 8-NOON

3. gonna have to use stock manifolds for now. they flow well enough(not as good as the 6.0L mani's though) for my stock application.

4. Im going with Dual Magnaflows becuase i hear they are good performers(flow well) and not so loud....kinda give me a "sleeper" effect.

5. Driveshaft..those Denny Driveshaft people are mail order and quote a great price for a Nitrous Ready almost unbreakable 1350 series Driveshaft with a full "warranty"

6. Eaton posi...i saved a quote from FSC a while back im gonna use. "Eaton Posi ~ Wayne Grubb @502-933-3455 . $289.Tell him Bruce from Pflugerville refered you." gears...havent bought or shopped for any in a while. my old gears for my other truck i bought from 4wheel parts i think. randy's Ring and Pinion.com rings a bell though.(lot of good info there) you need a 10 bolt 8.5" set, thats the rear you should have, althougha 12 bolt wouldnt be bad  . im gonna guess and say 3.42's, but you can check your rpo codes in the glove box to be sure.

7. e fans? i got my LS1/LT1 fans off ebay..they go for around $100 usually with no wiring. summit sells some good ones(permacool PRM-19115 or something close - 16" 2950cfm, you would probably like this to be a minimum set of values you'd look for.....jegs 771-19115 is the same fan) for about $80 and another $40 for a wiring kit needed. you dont have to have fans from a vette, most any fans will work. shit i was looking at mustang fans if they went cheap enough on ebay

8. 4 core radiator? shit if can find one shoot me a lead on it.....i never knew they made 4-cores. sometimes bigger is better, im not sure if this is necessarily one of those times.

I checked out that number on summit's website and all I could find in the index of painless stuff was #60504 which was an LT1 then it went to #60510 which was for a stang engine with mass air flow sensor, could you check again on that one. Was it from summit?

As far as radiators.... are they all the same for all vehicles? When i was looking for a new one on jegs.... most of them were "Universal" are they the same size and take the existing brackets in mostly ALL vehicles?

i had to call summit, they can get it, just isnt put in their inventory i guess. the guy i talked to said he'd work on gettin it the next day, i now how much he cares about my business. im sure thats the number i have the chart from Painless' site saved. ill attch it below so you can save it as well.

most of them on jegs are full racing all aluminum radiators...they're gonna be $400+ at least they were when i was lookin, and most of them were "Be Cool" radiators.

Do you know what the part # at jegs is for the electric fan wiring kit?

What is a new set of gears going to cost you price wise?

Just to let you know, I am trying to make a really nice summary of everything you need for the truck, including part #'s and pictures so people have an Idea on where to go as far as parts, maybe we can stick it on the web-page or something. once i get it fairly complete i'll post it in PDF format or something

i really dont keep a jegs around i usually just keeo the latest summit til they come again. the fan number is PRM-19115 and the wiring kit which is adjustable from 170deg-210deg...anything above that it stays on til it hits a good temp. BUT...as long as you can wire youre fans to the pcm, (IF YOU GO WITH F-BODY FANS) then you shoulnt need this kit...its only an alternative. the part number to the kit is PRM-18905 $50 in Summit...part # is similar in jegs as are most other part #'s.

New gears were ~$140 (ring and pinion)when br1ev8 bought a set last year..they wined he got a free pair, and sold me the new ones he got for $100... so im goin with those 3.73's

makin a summary...i got all the info on this post anybody would ever need lol, but seriously i think we've covered just about everything

Brandon

EDIT...corrected the part # for the wiring kit

and BTW...i just looked through summit again, i missed the cheaper radiators so i thought all they had were the more expensive "Be Cools". They have "summit" radiators that are 2-core alla luminum welded, no epoxys, seals, or gaskets to go bad. Part # SUM-380331, GM 31"L x 19"H for $179.95 .....looks like im gonna go with that one, as im having probs locating one locally for a good price
