    6.0 swap to what year??

I have a 1999 silverado Z-71 that is going under for the 6.0 swap but I need to know what year to go with.. I'm wanting to go with the newest year possible so that the milage will be low but how new can I go. How much of the wiring harness do I need to change out also??

2002-2006 is the easiest swap and there are two major truck types of 6.0. Please do not consider MPG.

01 through 06 mate it with 4l60e by using a 4.8/5.3 flywheel. 99 and 00 only work with the 4l80e because of a longer crankshaft. 99-00 have Iron heads which is a dead give away so you won't get suckered.

Almost everything 2003+ is DBW except vans and a few odd combos. It was not an option.

Sounds like you disagree yet you said what I did LOL. Vans and odd combos....I said most 03+ Still wasn't an option, just an anomaly, right?

If you get the entire harness, gad pedal, TAC module, PCM, etc. you'd just swap out the entire wiring harness and drivetrain. There will be a few things to redo.

stick with the cable driven pre 03s and you should have to make no major electrical changes
