No one knew if this cluster would work in a truck orginaly equipped with a manual trans but the Denali cluster worked fine with the exception of the gear indicators being lit and it showed to be in D all the time, this was fixed by covering with black electrical tape, I removed the peg just past 6K and the peg just past 120 mph and covered the small holes with tape also.

I was wondering if removing the pegs allowed for higher readings...

do the gauges read past with the pegs out/cut down? Reason being I have that Escalade cluster going in soon (waiting on a new bezel as mine's cracked) and the cam I have will pull well past 6000rpm

Removing the pegs would allow the needle to continue to move on some previous rigs I owned so I imagine it will on these also. I am running an 02 ZO6 cam and my rev limit is set to 6500 and I have hit the limiter several times so I am thinking I will gain about another 500 rpm's on my tach and maybe 10 or so mph on the speedo.

I put an Escalade cluster in my truck, and the transmission temp gauge works flawlessly.
No more trucks, but this is what I used to have. 2000 GMC Sierra, 6.0L-LQ4, Built 4L60, LS6 Cam, The Other Guys Headers, 3 inch exhaust and 7 chamber flowmaster, 43lb injectors, Nelson Tuning, Drop - 3/4 McGaughys Spindles, Bell Tech Shackles & Hangers. Best time 13.59 @ 106

No, the manual trans has no sensors to detect transmission temps.
