    ls1 to lq9

sorry i made a mistake it is a 5.3 and i am wanting to put a lq9 in it. So what all do u need to do this and i would like some recomendations on a cam and should i use the 5.3 heads and just rework them with bigger valves or should i get aftermarket heads for it. It has a yank 2600-2800 stall converter and 3.73 gears

What wrong with your ls1? not enough power? i have a ls1 in my RCSB and i love it i also get 17mpg city and i havent tried highway. I just helped put a LQ9 in my friends CCSB he only gets 12mpg city and i dont know highway, but i still beat him i know im lighter though. Also the LQ9 cant rev for crap stock. He can only rev up to 5800rpms im hittin 6400rpms

    Just my thoughts....

the gains from a ls1 to lq9 wont be worth it if there are any gains at all...

so what do u think i should do my 5.3 only has a leaking head gasket an about 140,000 miles on it but why do u think that it would be better to just do work on it and not do a 6.0

Yes. You can swap them out. You need the 6.0L heads though. You will see a difference b/w he two.
