Well I inherited an 83' Suburban 3/4 2wd from one of my Arab buddies here ( nice guy eh?!which needs a ton of work.
One of the things I plan to do is give it a Carbureted 6.0.. Fuel economy isn't relavent and a lack of proper facilities/ scan tools ( But mostly a serious lack of TIME.. I work six 12's..)etc exclude an efi conversion..for now at least.
So of course I have a few questions..
1 what is the best year engine to go with ? I will be using the Th 400 that currently lives there period.
2 How much if any hacking is gonna be required to make it physically fit?
3 Who makes the cleanest LS to Gen 1 motor mount conversion plates?
Will the truck A/C comp and the accessory brackets clear the frame?
4 I understand there will be Flexplate trickery or a converter sawp involved.. I wanna be able to run the Stock 6.0 starter and use any "normal" TH 400/350 type converter, who's got the stuff to make it happen?
5 I really want to run headers, but will need to run iron manifolds for now, and to re-install for annual inspection.. Will the truck manifolds get it rolling, and will some F body full lengths do in the future?
A lot of thanks for any accurate guidance, as accurate info be's rare as hen's teeth.. Especially over here..![]()
