    will the stock five speed work with the ls2. im guessing the flywheel wont.
    2000 rcsb z71. Bought it from my dad, the original owner! 100k on the clock. corvette servo. soon to be tuned!!

    1990 2wd rcsb. stepside. lowered 2 and 4. cowl hood. molded roll pan. 89 BMW recaro leather seats, dakota digital guage cluster. LT1 swap: ported and polished 96 corvette heads, LT4 hotcam kit, pcmforless tune, nv3500 5speed, corporate 14 bolt rear with spool and 4:11 gearing.

    the transmission will, the flywheel will not. The real question is in the strength of the stock 5 speed, I think you would be just fine for daily driving and occasional tire smokin' but hard launches might just kill it.

    Well supposedly its the same tranny they put in the 454 trucks and i got a new centerforce dual friction clutch for it too so it might but thats good to know that it will work, thanks!

    No idea on if it is what they put behind 454's now. But I can tell you it wasn't the hard launches that weakened mine, it was the 2nd and 3rd shift. But it is still limping along, so I hate to change it yet.

    I also have the dual friction centerforce. But I am no where near the HP of the LS2.
