Hey guys my 02 silverado's lighting has been just faintly flickering and it annoys me, but makes me wonder what is going on. It does not matter if all the headlight , blower fan, radio, everything is on or off. I do notice the volt meter will drop a point or two from the start of driving to work (25miles) with all the same elelctrical things on or off for the duration of the trip. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

All the lights flicker or kinda pulse?

Excessive Diode Ripple/System noise.... Most likely your Alternator, Get a charging system check before you drop the cash on the Alt. Some testers will not complete the battery/Charging system test cause of System noise... Same thing Replace the Alt.. But get it tested first.

A-zone's bench tester (at least those in BR, LA), don't check diode failures. I found that out dealing with them & O'Reilly (3 alts). Picked up a brand new Delco alt from a wholesaler who sells to a local GM dealer out here (hookup deal). No problems since.

Symptoms included batt indicator on for 10 seconds, intermittently while driving. Of course, yours may not have thrown codes like mine. Check your main power runs from batt to alt. May be a loose connection too (assuming you haven't checked that). Corroded batt terminal was cause of surging current to my headlights and charging pulsations on my first battery about a year and a half ago. How old is your batt?
