OK guys, it's starting to cool down up here in NY and I am starting to wonder about a remote starter for the truck. Are there any simple ones t\hat are just remote start and not an alarm? I am looking for something under $100. If there isn't one is ther an alarm/remote start system that is reasonably priced and does the job, I would at least want a remote kill for the alarm. That I would say I would want for less than $300. Thoughts? Only alarms I have heard of are the DEI ones. A stand alone remote starter that would work with the factory FOB would be great (but I have a feeling, not possible).

    Thanks,
    Andrew

I like that one, still ideally it would be a little less expensive (I am SUPER picky about that crap) but I really do like one, if I can't find a remote starter to work I would probably do that.

After a little research here is what I have found/has been suggested:
The DEI Valet 551T plus the 555F bypass supposedly allow you to use the factory FOB for the remote start....have to ask if this works for our trucks.

    Whatcha think?

    Another question:
Would the factory alarm still work with the DEI valet remote starter? I know there is a bypass but don't really know the specifics of it. My understanding is that for some reason you have to bypass it to get the car to start otherwise it believes that it has been started without a key and will kill it. That is my understanding, I'm not sure though.

Ames store? What is that? I like that price though. I was thinking about an alarm, but then I figured if I can place a well hidden, non obvoius kill switch somewhere I should be good to go. i did like that one tHt Chingon showed with the pager.

I HAVE HAD DEI PRODUCTS IN ALL MY VEHICLES AND THEY WORK GREAT. MORE THAN A 100.00 BUCKS THOUGH.YES YOU NEED THE BYPASS AND NO THE FACTORY ALARM WILL SET OFF THE REGULAR ALARM WHEN ACTIVATED.ONCE THE DEI IS INSTALLED IT WILL UNLOCK THE DOORS AND EVERYTHING THERE WILL BE NO NEED TO KEEP THE FACTORY REMOTES
