I was just wondering: what are you guys replacing your 99-02 stereo head units with, and can you post some pictures? I would really like to replace mine with another 1 1/2 DIN head unit, but I know very little is available in that size

Here's a good one. It's a great unit and you can change the face from amber to green. They are getting harder to find so good luck! Your other options are Jensen or Pioneer which are a little cheaper than the Alpine.

    ALPINE CDA-D857

    1 Year Manufacturer's Warranty
    Controls CD Changer
    Removable Face
    Auto Station Preset
    Seek Tuning
    Repeat Track
    Repeat Disc
    Track Scan
    Audible Fast Search

    RCA Output Pairs: 2
    Station Presets: 6/12 AM/FM
Max Line Level Output: 4 watts RMS
    Disc Capacity: 1
    Max Speaker Power: 40 x 4
    Radio Mounting: 1.5 DIN

    Average price is $450.00

I think the only way I'll change mine is if it has MP3 playback capability. I am, however, curious just to see wht you other guys are doing

I haven't tried MP3's and I can't find any info on it. I know it'll play CD-R's with no problems though.

Pioneer still makes 2 head units the size your looking for.
