Hey I scored a slightly used 130A alternator for ~$90 shipped.

This will work okay with a stock crank pulley, big stereo, and electric fans. My charging system was fine before the fans with the stereo but the fan draw about 30A at full blast and that is hurting my charging system espically when the headlights are on.

If I was running a stock fan and underdrive pulley, this 130A would be fine. If you were going to run electric fans with an underdrive pulley I'd go ahead and run a 200A alternator.

damn that 's a lot of current, i didn't realize they put out so much, and a 200amp, very nice,

when my fans come, they do make my volt meter fall a notch or two then it picks right back up, of course i have both come on at full blast, maybe i'll upgrade to a better alternator someday,

thanks for the info, that's good to know,

Same Here, I want to upgrade my alt. too. I thought a 130 would be good to handle e-fans, stereo. But, do you think the 200 would be a better choice.

    Thanks,

200A would be better if you run an underdrive pulley, but if you don't the 130A should be okay. I will hopefully have mine by next Friday. Also I would like to have a 200A but funds are limited now so I will just pick up the 130A for now.

If I keep my truck for another year I'll do a 200A and an ASP pulley, if not I'll just sell as is. I am hard-core ready to get into a Duramax
