    fuel pump relay

so im about to wire up my fuel pumps (bosch 044) and i figured it would be best to use relays for each pump, right?

but im not real sure what relays i need to get. so any advice on what i need would be great!

    thanks

i went and bought bosch relay rated for 40 amps

i used the factory relay to control the new relay and have both my pumps tied into the new relay. it has its own 10ga wire feeding it. This way its still factory controlled for when the pumps come on. The stock wiring isnt enough to handle the new current draw from the twins.

pay good money for OEM relays or bosch

you have to see what your pumps are rated at. a 255 is rated i do believe 15 amps at full load so two of them is 30 amp.

what is the bosch pump rated at? if rated at XX amount then if possible get next size up relay if possible. if its rated at 20 amp run a 30 amp relay. in electrical never under size the components, the fuse can always be undersized but rest cant be.

the power wire going to the stock pump is what i used only for the signal wire of the new relay.
