bigger ground from battery to frame, 4ga. min., optima battery, hi amp alternator,1+ farrat capacitor. a local starter repair shop re worked a stock alternator for me for less than $50, when i got it back i could crank the ac with the hi beams on playing my stereo (1000 watt mono and 800 watt 4ch.) and not move the volt gauge.

I just learned about this in physics Thursday, *FARAD* is the unit of capacitance. I don't think you want a small fuzzy critter hooked up to your battery. Although funny at first, it would probably make the truck smell weird after a little while.

I will just say it before Quik does Welder shop, welders wire, no need for an alt. Grounds grounds, and more ground. + voltage does nothing if it can't get back to the source.

I wouldn't say that JUST that... For every 1000 watts you need 100 amps of alternator is the general rule.

I also have a few car audio batteries left over if you're interested in buying a spare battery to help.
