It'll all go away after the next solar eclipse, don't worry...I'm pretty sure it's the solar wind blowing in from space.

Do you think this would help? My radio is sooo static when my HID's are on. I'm contemplating getting rid of the damn things.

you might try some kind of grounded stainless steel sheilding around the power amplification boxes. It always worked to take the static out of ignitions.

i just installed my HIDs today & checked - yep, they're causing static on mine too.

do you think grounding the relay harness to the engine block will fix this - seein's how the antenna is grounded to the fender/body?

i know it's kinda an out-there idea considering the engine has a ground strap running to the firewall, but you never know sometimes...

I had read a thread about this a while back before I got mine, and they said make sure the ballasts are mounted to something plastic(i put mine on the plastic grille supports) not on any metal parts of the truck. How true this is, I have no idea, but my reception is fine.

where are your ballasts & what are they grounded to? i think that's what makes all the difference

They are behind the grill and grounded to nothing. Just the harnesses they come with.

I would add a ground to the factory side of the harness. The only way its causing interference is through the wires, its not radiating. I do have static in my CB, but I need to add a better ground to my CB before I say that the HIDs are the whole problem.
