This is an easy fix. Remove the pannle under the steering wheel. You will be able to see the body control module. There are 5 connectors on front of the bcm you will be working with the gray connector. If you look close at the connector you wil see the holes in it are numbered and lettered. You need to find B1 black wire with white stripe and A5 dark green with white stripe. Strip back both wires about 1/2 inch and solder a diode between the two. I use radioshack part #276-1661. Before you solder the wires turn on the high beams and see if the fog lights come on. If the dont reverse the diode between the two wires and try the high beams again. The diode is kind of an elestrical check valve, only lets power go one way. This will also work to make the low beams come on with the high beams. Put a diode between B1 black with white stripe and A4 black with white stripe(low beam control). Check the install the same as with the fod lights. If the low beams dont come on reverse the diode.

There is a post on LS1TECH on this where a guy used the diodes, but instead of cutting/stripping and saudering, he had you just use the pin outs on the connectors, and it worked awesome, go check it out there in the truck section.

Just purchased a 05 Silverado Crew Cab and drove it for the first time last night and noticed the lights "SUCK" when running in highbeams. I have used preset kits on my last couple trucks however after running into this site I found there may be a easier way.

Can anyone verify this will work on a 05 and if so are there any special things I should look for. Thanks

When I first got my 03, the high beams sucked too and I kept getting flashed with my lows on. I adjusted them down a little and now the highs work better and I don‘t get flashed as often on low.

When doing this mod on a 03-04 will the fog lamp switch work as factory? Otherwise will the factory fog switch work? I have done the high 4 on my headlights but I would like the fogs to stay on with my highs but I would also like the fog lamp switch to work normal so if I didnt want to run my fogs all the time with my highs.

I ran a wire from the hot side on the parking light to the foglights and they stay on with the high's now, and I did the diode trick to keep the lows on with the high's.

When I flip the high beams it's like the space shuttle coming in but with GMC aimin for ya. :flipoff:
