    Replace factory 4x6 with 6x9?

I have a 2003 Silverado and bought a pair of Kicker 6x9s thinking that they would fit my truck. It turns out that my truck has 4x6s in the back right now though. How much work would be involved in putting the 6x9s in there? Could I just cut the hole out a little bit and screw them in?

I guess the depth will be the problem. I know the depth of my kickers are 3.25 inches. I can't find the stock depth but I am thinking it will be less.

Too much cutting and the outer plastic would take alot of the sound away from the 6x9's. I would just take them back and exchange them for the 4x6's.
