    Keep blowing horn fuse

So I have gone through about 4 fuses so far. If i honk the horn more than 1 second it blows. Has anybody else had problems with thier horn or is it just me? I don't use it that often but it would be nice to have.

Well luckily it came with a horn. haha I'll check my relay at lunch today. I just thought it was kind of wierd as I have had the truck for about 3 years and it just started this last month. Thanks for the replies. Has noone else had the same problem?

just checked my relay. It is good. I guess I have a short somewhere. where that is who knows. I guess I will have to live with no horn unless anybody has an idea where it could be.

it can't be to many places! I mean the horn is mounted up front and ran through the engine bay so its not like the wires are ran all through the truck! Mine has wires ran(but no horn) and they stop right below the radiator! Man i don't know, seems like a bigger fuse would help! If not say screw it and get some train horns, haha!

I had the same problem, horn was shorted out. Get a new horn advance/pep boys/napa/wherever to replace the one that's not working at and it'll solve your problem.

GM has a TSB about this. Water from driving in rain, carwashes, etc gets into your horns, sits there, and then short circuits the horn. Then your fuse will blow. The fix was to replace the shorted horn or horns, and point the opening of the horn straight down when installing the new ones. GM also came up with a "shield" to help stop the water intrusion. Once you do this, you will never have this problem again.
