Ok guys, I got the bumper cap painted and it came back with the back edge not painted? It's like this on both sides. I don't really understand how that could have happened, but I don't think it should be like that. It will be an area that you will be able to see. Am I being overly critical here?

Also, I got a tailgate bezel painted, I asked for a Tahoe one but I can see that it is textured, not smooth like the escaldes. The Tahoe's are smooth right, not the textured ones painted?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

    That's gonna look nice.

IMO, i'd get it fixed, that's kind of unacceptable that edge isn't painted.

The tahoe one is smooth, if i remember right, I was gonna order one for a silverado, and that's exactly why i was, becuase it was smooth.

btw, did you order them from a shop or is that a dealer item?

    thanks,

I got I both from a dealer who painted and shipped them to me. I'll call him and let you know what I find out. I didn't think it would be something that I should keep either, but just wante to make sure I wasn't being unreasonable.

Hahaha usally they paint everything including the parts not to be painted! I don't think that is unreasonable to expect it to be painted on all the showing surfaces.

Is there anything that they are going to need to do to ensure they prep and paint this new area correctly and I don't see the fix? The bumper has 2 base and 2 clear coats on it. I just don't know how they are going to do these two areas without being able to notice.

I'm far from a paint and body man but I think sand off all the clear, paint the base coat (or spray it where the bare spots are) then spray the clear.

I would send it back!!!! I got the C3 handle and bezel, I believe it was smooth too, or the guy that paints my stuff just sanded it.
