Quick fix!

I'm sure you've seen it, the dreaded chevy rake, where the truck leans to one side. Mine did and it really use to piss me off. A buddy of mine showed me an easy fix, What we did was cut a tire just above the bead and up into the sidewall the width of the leaf springs, the piece of tire is wedge shaped,thicker towards the bead side, you will need 2. Next we jacked up the truck by the frame to relieve the tension on the springs on the side of the truck that was sitting low then wedged the piece of tire in between the bottom two springs. One in frount and one in back. You can adjust the height by moving the pieces of tire in and out. Work great on my truck. P.S. mine is a 2 wheel drive. Hope this might be of help to someone.

excellent idea

i have the same problem, the drivers front spring is weakening, but pretty soon i'm installing a 2/4 drop with belltech springs, so hopefully i won't have to worry about that anymore.

My '02 Tahoe is between 3/4" to 1" higher on one side. Nobody else notices, but I do! I thought it looked off when I was detailing it, so I measured to the top of each wheel well, and sure as hell, it was off. My truck has the Autoride suspension and the rubber boots on the rear shocks were cracked so I replaced them. I got them from Arnott Ind. for half what the dealer wanted. I also replaced the compressor, but neither of these repairs took care of the droop on the one side. Any ideas? Thanks!

theres a spacer sold by belltech that sits on top of the driverside coil that will level it out.

That would work except Tahoes do not have coils in the front. I suppose a spacer in the rear coils would work but since its a torsion bar front end just crank the bolts on the torsion bar keys until its level (up or down depending on preference).

My problem is with the front on my 07 classic 2wd rcsb. my drivers side is 1/2inch shorter compared to pass side. my rear is identical. I wondering if there was a "green" way to fix this by using ur method. I have alot of old tires at my disposal!
