    Newley installed HID question

I just installed the DDM HID kit and noticed this morning that while the ballasts were were warming up, the lights flickered a few time. Is this just because the ballasts are cold (35 degrees outside) or could there be something wrong with the ballasts? Both sides do it on start-up. My wifes 2008 Nissan Rouge SL has factory HID's and I've never seen them do this. Thanks

Are you running a relay harness with them or are they just hooked up to the headlights like normal?

I have a harness and mine still flicker a bit, but not like they did without it.

Mine do it, no big deal. New Buick's and Cadillacs with HID's for original equipment do it to

They are just hooked up normal. Headlight harness into ballast. Once they warm up for about 5-10 seconds they are fine. Not a big deal, just wasn't sure.

It just the warm up period. As long as they get to full brightness after about 20 seconds then your good.

I was about to ask the same thing. The left light flickered for about 15 min 2 days ago and it has not done it since then.

if you have flickering and sometimes one will come on, and one not all the time, look at installing two of these, the AR-02. stops all the mis-fire issues on auto headlights on these.

Or you can just set the ebrake partially and start the truck then release the brake. Works like a charm every time. No flicker while key is turning. I do it every time in my truck and my HID's come right on and heat up and are at full color/brightness in maybe 10sec max.
