    gears

    whats the size on a chevy 1500 4.8 for the gears i know my gears but whats the other specs cause i was looking to buy some and it said 10.5, 14 bolt...how do i know what mine is...is it 8.5, 8.6, or 10.5

    We have an 8.625 rear end. With that said, gears for an 8.5 and an 8.625 rear end are the exact same. Only the install kits are different. Make sure you get an 8.625 install kit.

    Michael..do you work for protective engineering? I delt with a Michael Weston a few months back on a quote.

    do you think i really need the install kit or you think i could just swap the gears out and i would be fine

    Get the kit. Do it once do it right.

    Swap in all new stuff.
