    Clear coat engine parts

My appologizes if this is in the wrong thread.....I purchased a used LH6 5.3 for a project and I currently have it on the engine stand. It only has 36k miles and is farely clean but I would like to detail it a little more before installation. I was planning on removing the entire accessory drive from the engine and having it bead blasted to bring it back to new as well as an assortment of other pieces. My questiond is this...can some sort of clear coat be applied that will withstand the heat? I know they can be clear powder coated but I dont want that expence. I was hoping for something more DIY. If anyone has any ideas I would sure like to hear them.

I think Dupli-Color makes a high heat clear in a rattle can, I was polish my heads a bit and put it on them, then paint the rest Chevy Orange
