How do I remove door moldings?

I have an 03 ECSB and my body colored door moldings are all faded and look like crap. I am changing over to a black/tan theme and want to replace the moldings with black ones or just paint the ones I have. I cant seem to even get them to budge and I don't want to paint them in place. I assume they are held on with clips and 3M tape?

No clips in there just tape, try a hair dryer or heat gun

They are held on with just 3m tape. Use a plastic scrapper to get them started. Then just pull them off. Some people use heat guns or hair dryers to help. After you are finished with that use a rubber eraser wheel. You can get that from a paint and body shop.

use some goo gone sticker remover stuff and a heavy grade fishing line. just let the tape soak in the good gone for a minute or two then flaws down and the emblems will fall off. i just painted all my emblems black and it worked perfectly

2 vice grips and a piece of fishing line. One vice grip on each end of the fishing line...slide between the molding and the door and slide to other end. Then obviously you will still have some of the 3M tape left over...this is where you can either do it the hard way...with your ...or the easy way...with the eraser wheel like stated above.
