    peeling interior pieces?

anyone else have that rubber color coating peeling up on trim pieces. my whole dash top peice is pretty beat up. i was wondering if you can buy a can of this stuff and redcoat the pieces. my interior color (graphite) is pretty close the natural color of the plastic underneath so i guess i could just peel it all off if not.

mine is doing the same thing i thing they all do it but as far as i know you can buy the pieces by themselves but as far as repainting them im sure you could. just go to the local parts store and buy a vinal dye that is close to the same color and just strip all of the old coating off.

Our trucks just have plastic painted dashes. If you are using Armor All or a similar petroleum based product to clean and shine your dash, it is damaging your paint. The Armor All bottle even has a warning on it. But no worries, it can be cleaned up and repainted pretty easily.

dropem, any idea on what a dash would cost. mine was fine until I had my Sirius radio sitting on the dash and it rubbed some of the coating off. It can't be cheap.

I know the stuff they make for plastic works well.

    It's considered "dye" by most.

I would have it refinished by a professional. Make sure you remove it so there are no edges that get no coverage....this could cause it to "re-peel".

I could check on the price for a new one but I'll tell you it'll be really high...

GasGuzzler, if you wouldn't mind, I would be interested in knowing. Gonna have the truck for quite some time, so I figure it might be worth it. Key word being "might".

    Thanks

You'll have to remind me tomorrow. Remember, the new part will be painted too...
