99-02 HD grill & bumper on '01 LD truck

Heres what I want to do. Take a 01-02 2500HD front bumper and grill assembly and put it on my '01 1500 standard (LD) silvie.

Ive seen this done and I personally think it looks good, but not with the HD hood. IMO.

Has anyone here done this and maybe have some sources, tips or pictures. I think, but im not sure, that everything should swap right over.
I did a search and didn't come up with anything. I think checking local auto recyclers will be my best source for parts, as I didn't really find anything on line.

yeah its a direct swap....the bumpers are the same on the two trucks onlt the top pad is different, so get the grille and the top pad and you will be good to go, you jus have to lower the bumper via spacers after u get the new top pad

Have you done this conversion before, meaning, do you have any pics of how you spaced the bumper down?
I should be doing the swap in the next couple weeks. Ill try to post some before, during , and after pics if I can.
Now I just need to locate the parts!

Your truck looks sick with the HD swap!! I love the clean simplicity of it.
Is that with the HD bumper pad also?

Does the 2500HD grill fit also, or do I have to find a 1500HD grill? Did you get yours online or a junkyard?

The grill shell bolts and snaps right into place with no mods.
But I guess the bumper must be spaced down for the HD upper bumper pad.
From what Ive gathered, I havnt done mine yet.

no...my truck has the stock 1500 bumper pad, i had to cut it around the grille....see pics above...and the 1500 hd grille is the same as a reg 1500 grille

WOW, that clears thing up big time!
Ive been searching around for a 1500HD grille and It looked the same as mine!
So now I know I need a 2500HD grille, that should make things a bit easier.
Im think im gonna go for the 2500HD front bumper also.
