I just picked up a 99 silverado and it has the middle seat in the front that doesn't fold down to the console. Can I take it out and swap for a middle seat that folds in to a console. I like to have something to lean on when I go on long tours.

You can swap it out for a full center console or just a jump seat that folds down. Just make sure it is from a 99-02 I don't know if the newer ones will fit properly.

The jump seats will fit. The consoles will not match up to the dash properly. I can post a picture if you would like.

I'll try and take a pic of my console that is from an 04 in my 99 well it does not fit right at all. There is about an 1.5 inch gap. The bolts for the seats work fine i can actually move it backward some if i wanted and forward if the dash fit. I did cut my bolster under the steering wheel about a 1" to make the console work.
I will have to do it at work tomorrow since my camera is at work.

dude if your truck is tan interior i should have my jump seat/console out soon. its jsut a matter of freaking ups shipping me mine b.c they broke the console in transit to my house. the truck go in a wreck and my console got messed up so the company is shipping me a new one. but ive got a great looking jump seat. it jsut might be a week or so until i get the new console in. let me know.
