If you plan on cranking the front up 2 inches I'd replace them. The stock shocks will be close to fully extended with the added height, so your ride will suffer. Basically they will max out going over bumps and such driving down the road. Those lifted shock are a bit longer fully extended and would improve the ride quality....

check ebay, that price is kinda salty, you can get them cheaper that come with the brackets to move your shocks up, you would save a bunch of cash and could re use your shocks, but if you need new shocks buy the extended length ones. in my opinion the leveling keyways are all the same.

and ya it will beat a hemi.

Rough country leveling comes with shocks, blocks, and keys. For under $200, that aint bad.

If you are doing just the keys, then yes Ford keys are the cheapest way to go.

    Chevy Silverado Lift Kit - 2" by Tuff Country 1500 1999-2006 (#12923)

This is really what I want to get, but it would still leave me on a slight rake. Would I be able to crank the front up about an inch, after the keys and add-a-leafs? And if I do, would it really change the ride quality up front all that much?

Personally I would rather do a 1.5'' block rather than the add-a-leafs. Had em, made the rear bouncy as hell.

If you crank up too much on the front keys, the problem you have is that when you release your suspension; say like a whoop in the road, you will get a clunk because you hit the stops that stop the control arm from dropping to far down.

i cranked the keys way up on my silverado and it rode like crap, and also did 1.5" blocks in the rear and it didnt affect the ride or towing in the rear. i would do my homework before i got f150 keys, most 88 up gm keyways are the same if that helps

    Lift

I have a 2002 2500hd, and I did a torsion bar lift, shock extensions, rear add a leaf and a 2" block. I got 3"-3.5" all the way around the truck with factory shocks. They don't like it but it's been a year and still no signs of any leaks or clunks. I would reccomend longer shocks just for extra travel in the suspension.
